Using The Wheel of Life Worksheet
The Wheel of Life Worksheet is one of my favorite self-improvement exercises. I assign it to all of my clients right away because it is a good assessment of the balance in their lives and a good gauge of how happy they are. Today I want to go over this powerful self-improvement worksheet with you because it’s really helpful and eye-opening.
Purpose of Wheel of Life Worksheet
The purpose of the Wheel of Life Worksheet is to get a snapshot of your life balance. It’s a tool that will help you gain some clarity in the areas of your life you are neglecting. A balanced life is important, so you can use this self-improvement assessment as a starting point. Once you determine the areas that are being neglected you can take action.
- Rank your level of satisfaction in each area of your life, 1 – 10. 1 means poor and 10 means excellent.
- Once you have ranked each segment draw a line to connect the points.
Feel free to change up the life categories. You are not stuck to the ones on the sheet.
Wheel of Life Worksheet Reflection
Once you have completed the Worksheet, it’s time to reflect. Ask yourself these questions:
- What surprises do you see?
- Describe the kind of ride this would be .. bumpy?
- What areas do you need to work on?
- What can you do to improve each area of your life?
Once you have answered these questions take one action you can do this week to start improving your situation. Do this exercise from time to time to assess your balance and then take action to make your wheel more “even.”
